Nicky P. Kaur is a visionary social entrepreneur and the Founder & CEO of Chandigarh Spinal Rehab, a Centre of Excellence for the holistic rehabilitation of people with spinal cord and brain injuries. What began as a dream inspired by a quadriplegic survivor has grown into one of India’s leading institutions for life-changing rehabilitation and empowerment.
Under her leadership, the Centre has rehabilitated over 900 individuals and impacted more than 18,000 lives through therapy, counselling, sports, and community outreach. Her model of care goes beyond physical recovery—focusing on restoring dignity, independence, and purpose. Rooted in empathy and inclusion, Chandigarh Spinal Rehab empowers persons with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives through personalised rehabilitation, vocational training, and sports integration.
Many beneficiaries have transformed into entrepreneurs, professionals, and para-athletes, including the members of India’s first wheelchair band, “Flowing Karma.” For Nicky, true rehabilitation means rebuilding confidence, identity, and self-worth, ensuring that every individual leaves the Centre renewed in both body and spirit.
In 2025, Chandigarh Spinal Rehab achieved a significant global milestone by becoming a member of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Disability Health Equity Network (DHEN). This recognition places the Centre among a select group of international organisations working to advance health equity, inclusion, and leadership for persons with disabilities.
