Ms. Kavita Das
Mrs Kavita Chatterjee Das superannuated as the Principal of St. John’s High School. She is currently the Chief Executive of the new G D Goenka school in Mohali.
She was ranked among the top 8 principals of India and during her tenure, her school ranked among the top 3 schools in India, consistently. At the time of her departure, the school was ranked No. One.
She is the proud holder of numerous national and international awards, including the prestigious International “EXCEPTIONAL WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE” award by the Women Economic Forum, as well as the UT Chandigarh State Award, for her contribution to Education.
She has been on the advisory board to schools in Australia, working with them to plan their direction for the future and currently serves on the Boards of the Blood Bank, Triniti (a dynamic organization with a mission to revolutionize education) and Saksham (A Society working for the betterment of the Transgender and LGBTIQ Community). She is also on the Advisory Board to D- Bels (Dass & Brown Experiential Learning School), Panchkula.
She is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the international organisation, the GIEN (Global Inclusive Education Network).
Mrs Das was a part of the State Advisory Council for Education to the Govt of UT Chandigarh for The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education, from 2016 to 2023.
She was also a member of the core-committee for finalization of a comprehensive policy for providing education to children with disabilities by the UT Chandigarh.
