Ms. Deepika Gandhi

Deepika Gandhi, a practicing architect and author, took voluntary retirement as an Associate Professor at Chandigarh College of Architecture after over two decades in academics and has held the charge of Director, Le Corbusier Centre, Chandigarh Architecture Museum and Jeanneret Museum as well from 2015-22. She was a part of the team that prepared the Dossier for the transnational serial nomination for World Heritage for the Capitol Complex, Chandigarh and has been actively working on the promotion of Chandigarh’s heritage.

She has co-authored the book “Sukhna, Sublime Lake of Chandigarh” and co-edited the book “Le Corbusier rediscovered-Chandigarh and beyond” besides creating booklets for heritage sensitization. She recently published the book ” Worksheets for Budding Designers” with Niyogi Books.

She supervised the restoration of Jeanneret house, Le Corbusier Centre and its Canteen block, curated and designed the museum on Pierre Jeanneret in his restored house, and also oversaw the restoration of the pump house of the pump house at the Sukhna Lake and established the Sukhna Gallery therein.

She is also the co-convenor of INTACH Chandigarh, and an executive member of the M N Sharma Architectural Society, Organising secretary of Chandigarh Tree Lovers group, and President, Chandigarh Architecture Chapter, Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (WICCI).

At present she is a Visiting faculty for the subject of Desing innovation and Museum Curation at NIFT, Panchkula and involved in lectures, presentations, and heritage related activities besides conducting workshops and viva voce at educational institutes.
