Mr. Sumeer Walia, PHD, is currently the Vice President of the Office of University Communications at Chitkara University, where his experience over the years has enabled him to position himself as a brand strategist, media personality, and entrepreneurship enabler.

With over two decades of diverse industry experience, Mr. Walia began his career in the media and journalism industry in Mumbai, he has interviewed the likes of superstar of the century Mr Amitabh Bachchan, Mr. pierce Brosnan among many others. He also had the opportunity of interviewing several Hollywood stars during his stint as a journalist with a leading daily in Mumbai. While interviewing remained his passion even after he quit mainstream journalism, he later expanded his professional journey internationally by taking on a business development role with leading cruise lines in Florida, United States, gaining valuable insights into international work cultures and business markets.

Utilising his exposure from his stints in both India and abroad, with most recently in Dubai and the Middle East,Mr. Walia transitioned into academia and entrepreneurship. In his earlier stint at Chitkara University he was the founding Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Education Development (CEED) at Chitkara University (2015-2022) where he played a pivotal role in mentoring startups and ideating innovation.

His extensive experience across various industries and countries has uniquely positioned him to bridge the gap between academia and industry, contributing significantly to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and branding in India. He currently heads the Brand and communications of North Indias leading University Chitkara University.
