Dr. Harjinder Singh Cheema originates from Bazpur, a serene town in the Nainital district of India, where he completed his early education. He went on to pursue marine engineering in Pune, graduating in 1975.

He began his career with Thermax Limited in 1976, where he amassed over a decade of valuable industry experience until 1988. In 1990, driven by a strong entrepreneurial vision, he founded Cheema Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd., serving as its Managing Director for a decade.

Since 2000, Mr. Singh has served as the Promoter Director of Cheema Boilers Limited (CBL) and currently leads the organization as its Chairman. Under his stewardship, CBL has emerged as a key player in the global boiler and energy sector.

With a robust team of over 400 engineers and a total workforce exceeding 1,500 employees, the company operates from a 30-acre green campus and manufactures a comprehensive range of high-quality boilers and allied systems. In the last financial year, CBL recorded an impressive turnover of ₹7,500 million.

Beyond his industrial contributions, Mr. Singh actively engages with India’s academic and research institutions. He serves on the advisory boards and senates of prestigious institutions such as IIT Ropar, IIM Kashipur, Chandigarh University, Chandigarh Group of Colleges and many more.

His involvement in these roles reflects his commitment to fostering innovation, research, and industry-academia collaboration. He has been honored with doctorate Honoris Causa by Maryland State University, USA & GNA University, Punjab.
