Dr Pam Rajput

Dr. Pam Rajput, Professor Emeritus, Founder Director Centre for Women’s Studies, Coordinator Governance and Leadership Masters Programme, Former Dean Faculty of Arts, Chair and Professor of Political Science and Founding Director of Centre for Women’s Studies and Development, Panjab University, Chandigarh has been Visiting Professor in a number of Universities (Japan, South Africa, Germany) and lectured as a Visiting Professor in Ten Universities of Canada under the Shastri Indo-Canada Programme.   

Dr. Pam Rajput, Professor Emeritus Chaired the Govt of India High Level Committee on the Status of Women in India. She was elected a  Speaker of Women’s Parliament, first of its kind. Member UN Women CSAG, Member ICRW Leadership Council.   

Academic turned activist engaged in Women’s Movement and Advocacy from grassroots to global level. Have attended many UN Conferences from RIO to Monterrey, Rio, Vienna to Beijing and the Global Summit on SDGs, Member of many national and international networks.   

Addressed the UN General Assembly Special Session (Beijing 5) in June 2000, as Chair of APWW and representative of AP civil society. President of National Alliance of Women (NAWO), Convenor of Women 2023 and EC member of APWW.  

Dr. Pam Rajput have been involved in W20, W7 and C7; Chaired W20 Wgs – on Inclusive Decision Making (SA), VAW (Italy), Freedom from Discrimination (Indonesia) and as W7 Adviser Co-Chaired W7 WG on Accountability Mechanisms (Germany)  

Dr. Pam Rajput has been engaged in Capacity building of women at the grassroots, currently engaged as part of GEF commitment in Young Feminists Leadership Programme and it included their exposure to W20 and W7 engagement groups. Gender advocate, policy analyst, strategic planner, trainer and result oriented motivator, grassroots activist wit academic rigour and research experience.
