Rajinder Singh Bhatia is an Army Veteran and a prominent Defence Industry leader in India with over 50 years of experience.

He is Chairman of Kalyani Strategic System Limited (KSSL – Defence Business Subsidiary of Bharat Forge Limited) at Kalyani Group. He is also Chairman of Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems Limited (KRAS – A joint venture between Rafael and KSSL).

Under him, Kalyani Group has been at the forefront of India’s Atmanirbhar initiative while forging partnerships with major global Defence & Aerospace OEMs. Kalyani Group is today a leading exporter from India and at the forefront of the domestic Defence & Aerospace Landscape.

He was President of Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) from 2023-2025 and is Member of the CII National Council. He was also the President of the Defence Export Promotion Council (DEPC) from 2024-2025.

He has been a key member of Strategic Policy initiatives of government bodies for Defence & Aerospace, and Member of the CII Public Policy Task force, Member of the Governing Council of Centre of Excellence Design, Karnataka Innovation & Technology Society (Government of Karnataka), Member of Academic Council of Army Institute of Technology, and on the Advisory Committee of AMITY Institute of Defence Technology.

He has featured in ‘50 Manufacturing Innovative Leaders’ and was also awarded ‘Best CEO of the Year’ for ‘Excellence and Leadership in Innovation’ at Golden Star Awards in October, 2021.
