Age Friendly Futures Conclave

  27th November 2025

  4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

  CRRID, Sector 19A, Chandigarh

The Chandigarh Citizens Foundation (CCF) organised an insightful meeting on 27 November 2025 at the CCF Conference Room, CRRID, bringing together leading doctors, educationists, healthcare experts, and representatives from Senior Citizens Associations across the Tricity. The session focused on strengthening age-friendly healthcare services for the region’s elderly population.

The meeting featured a special address by Dr. Niharika Suchak, Associate Professor, Department of Geriatrics, Florida State University College of Medicine. Dr. Suchak shared valuable global perspectives on developing age-friendly health systems, highlighted key service gaps, and offered practical approaches to improve accessibility, dignity, and quality of care for older adults.

The session was coordinated by Dr. Bhavneet Bharti Director AIMS Mohali and of CCF, attended by members of the Health & Well-being, Social Welfare, and Education Focus Groups, along with many other stakeholders. Participants engaged in a productive discussion on operational challenges and potential solutions tailored to the Chandigarh Tricity.

As part of the next steps, CCF announced its plan to identify a sample group of senior citizens, in collaboration with Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), to assess their healthcare needs and develop targeted intervention strategies. This initiative marks an important step toward creating a coordinated and compassionate care ecosystem for the elderly.

To further advance this effort, CCF will conduct a Workshop on 13 December 2025, aimed at developing a roadmap for age-friendly health services and engaging wider community participation.

CCF remains committed to enhancing the well-being of senior citizens across Chandigarh Tricity and building a model age-friendly environment for India.
