Prof. Archana R Singh

Prof. Archana R Singh is the Chairperson at the School of Communication Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, bringing 27 years of expertise in teaching and research. A double gold medalist in her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, she earned her Ph.D. in Health Communication from AJKMCRC, JMI, New Delhi as a Junior Research Fellow of the UGC. Her scholarly contributions are vast, encompassing over 150 academic papers, articles, talks, presentations, book chapters and four books.  She has been chosen for two  international Best Paper awards that underscore her continuing impact on the field.

Her research excellence is further evidenced by a Senior Social Scientist Fellowship from the ICSSR and completed projects in collaboration with organizations such as Cambridge University and the National Council of Science and Technology. She has served as a member of the Central Panel Jury for the 66th National Film Awards and held leadership roles within the FTII Governing and Academic Council and the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Society. Presently she is on the Academic Boards of several universities in North India.

UNESCO has recognized her global reach, involving her in a review panel concerning youth and social media. Within her university, she has twice served as Chairperson of her department, Coordinator of the PU Community Radio, Colloquium Coordinator, Editor of the PU research journal of Social Science and even Cultural Coordinator. Adding a creative dimension to her academic profile, Dr. Singh is an accomplished poetess, author and broadcaster who contributes regularly to community radio.
