Satvinderpal Kaur currently serves as a professor and chairperson in the Department of Education at Panjab University, Chandigarh. She is also a coordinator at the Centre for Academic Leadership and Educational Management, Panjab University. Her teaching and research encompass pedagogic studies, educational policies, and contemporary issues related to equity and quality in education, with an emphasis on exclusion versus inclusion, especially concerning minority groups such as the urban poor, rural residents, slum dwellers, Muslims, tribal communities, women, and other disadvantaged sections of society. She has published over 50 research papers and has contributed to leading academic journals like the International Review of Education by the Institute of Lifelong Learning, UNESCO & Springer, Economic and Political Weekly (EPW), Millennial Asia, as well as with renowned publishers such as Routledge, Springer, Macmillan, and Sage. Her latest publication is “Impact of Covid-19 on Education: Impact on Access, Equity and Inclusion” by Routledge. She has also been involved in more than six research projects funded at the national and international levels. Her most recent collaborative research project focuses on Decolonising Feminist Research Methodologies in Education with Bath Spa University, UK. She has delivered talks at prestigious institutions such as Cornell University, USA; Bath Spa University, UK; the Indian Diaspora in Washington, DC, USA, and others. Additionally, she has participated in policy advising and served on important committees within the governments of Punjab, Karnataka, other states, and at the central level.
