Ms. Anju Mehta

As an experienced educator and principal, I have always believed in the power of a learner-centric approach—one that not only shapes young minds but also allows me to leave behind a meaningful legacy of students who are confident, compassionate, and future-ready. My journey in education spans almost three decades, during which I have had the privilege of serving in both day and residential schools. Over these years, I have honed my skills in educational leadership, communication, team building, and interpersonal relations, all of which have shaped me into the leader I am today.

As a pedagogical leader, I strongly advocate for distributive leadership, where responsibility and opportunities are shared so that more leaders are created within the system. I firmly believe that education is not a solitary pursuit but a collective endeavor, and this conviction has made me a strong votary of collaborative learning. At present, I head an experiential learning school that follows the Finnish Curriculum in the elementary years and the Cambridge Curriculum in the secondary years. This unique blend has allowed me to design meaningful learning experiences for students while also serving as an advisor to several schools across India.

Recognition for my work has been deeply humbling. I have been felicitated by the Government of India and by several national and international platforms for my innovative approaches to pedagogy. Among the accolades I cherish most are the Dynamic Principal Award—the first of its kind state recognition—and the Global Principal Award. These honors reaffirm my sense of integrity, purpose, and my dedication toward up skilling all stakeholders in education. They also fuel my zeal to bring a positive and lasting impact on every institution and community I am associated with.

Creating safe and healthy ecosystems for learners and teachers has always been my priority. I take pride in planning, organizing, and nurturing environments where curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking can thrive. My association with diverse boards—both national and international—has broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of varied pedagogical practices. As a CBSE Master Trainer and Resource Person, I have conducted numerous training sessions on the National Education Policy and other key areas, both online and offline. For me, mentoring and motivating students remains one of the most fulfilling aspects of my role, as I envision them becoming progressive and responsible citizens of tomorrow.

I have had the privilege of working in some of the most prestigious private and public institutions, where I contributed not only as an educator but also as an administrator. Beyond school boundaries, I have mentored students in Chandigarh under soft skills training programs organized by the Administration, conducted communication skills workshops at Punjab Engineering College, and addressed education students at Chitkara University.

An educator by choice, I am equally committed to community outreach initiatives that extend the benefits of education to larger society. With a postgraduate degree in English Literature and a background in Mass Communication and Journalism, I am also a passionate reader and writer. My contributions to national dailies and educational magazines have given me another avenue to share my thoughts and insights. I firmly believe in nurturing scientific temper and embracing technology, for I see them as powerful tools to prepare today’s learners to become tomorrow’s global citizens.
