Vandana Gupta born in a family of doctors had leanings towards health care and healing early on in life. The direction was clear from the beginning more so after her legendary father Dr. N.D.Aggarwal was awarded the Padamshri. An avid student of science, she joined Govt. Medical College, Patiala for MBBS course. She graduated with distinction and was awarded the President\u2019s medal for the best women medical graduate of India.<\/p>\n

Again her interest in women\u2019s health issues propelled her to join M.D. in Gynecology & Obstetrics and she completed the same in 1989. Subsequently she served as Gynecologist in the state services of Punjab, Haryana and U.T> Chandigarh. During her tenure as Gynecologist she interacted with patients from different socio-economic strata of the society and learned about their ordeals of accessibility, affordability and availability of healthcare. Also she gained an insight into the belief systems and health awareness of the public in the region regarding health issues. Later she worked in various administrative capacities like Additional Project Director Haryana AIDS Control Society, Joint Director PNDT, Additional Project Director (Reproductive Child Health). Subsequently she worked as Medical Superintendent of Govt. Multispecialty Hospital, Chandigarh and was awarded state award for meritorious service in health. Her final assignment was Director Health Services Haryana.<\/p>\n

During her tenure as health administrator in various capacities she gained vast experience and insight into the health care service delivery. The changing health scenario, use of social media, massive increase in life style diseases and increasing geriatric population are areas of concern and she is very keen that health policies and interventions should address these areas. She strongly feels that the retired intelligentsia of the society with their vast experience needs to be mobilized on the platform of FG of health and wellness for making the lives of people at large healthier and happier.<\/p>\n
